Safety note

The hot alkaline process (BOX_HOT) operates at 138–143 °C, above the atmospheric boiling point of water. Water contact with the hot caustic bath causes explosive boiling ("bumping"). Parts must be completely dry before immersion. See the hazard_notes field on the process type for the full safety brief.
